Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy turn nostalgic in Goa

Goa: In a musical evening at International Film Festival of India, a concert was held in Goa in honour of legendary composer R D Burman on Tuesday.

CNN-IBN caught up with the musical trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy to ask them about their favourite R D Burman songs.

Varsha Pillai: I'm sure you consider R D Burman your guru. Which one of your songs would you dedicate to him today?

Shankar Mahadevan: I would like to dedicate the title song of Kal Ho Na Ho to him.

Varsha Pillai: Out of R D Burman's compositions, which one do you wish you had composed?

Ehsaan Noorani: I wish we had composed Ek ladki ko dekha to (1942-A Love Story). I used to listen to Hindi music as a kid. Then I stopped listening to it in the late 70's. I got back to listening to Hindi music when I heard this song.

Loy Mendonca: I remember Ehsaan made me listen to that song. It's such a beautiful song.

Shankar Mahadevan: I wish I had composed Kuch to log kahenge (Amar Prem). It's an unimaginable composition.
