Every year, Bhumika gears up like many other youngsters of her age to join the Garba dance during Navratra. While her other faculties may have failed her, she used her observation power to fulfill her dream of dancing.
Lost in her silent world, she spends hours examining the other dancers as they move to the tune. The vibration of the drums is perhaps the only guide for her to understand and match steps with rhythm.
The remarkable ability of Bhumika has even left her family awestruck. "Even we don't know how she synchronises with the rhythms. Sometimes we also get confused seeing her dance so well," Bhumika’s sister Ankita Pujara says.
To everyone's surprise Bhumika can even perform Dhodhia, which is a unique style of Garba (dancing) performed at a much faster pace. And while her counterparts often resort to professional training before Garba competitions, Pujari relies on her own self.
She dances with a firm belief in god. As for the music, it's in her heart.
