Shekhar Kapur to judge India's Got Talent

Mumbai: His last film Elizabeth: The Golden Age released in 2007 and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur seems to be in no hurry to get back behind the camera. Kapur is currently busy judging the reality show India's Got Talent on Network 18's Colors, along with actors Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre.

And the show is just a way for Kapur to connect with India's hidden talent.

"It is good to do a show in which the talent is going to come from the villages, rural areas, small towns. For me, it was a short way for me to be there in form of judging the reality show," says Kapur.

The filmmaker was seen having several emotional moments on the show, but his favourite remains that of a tribal boy.

"The best one was adivasi boy who did a Michael Jackson piece on a film song. It was almost as if the MJ soul was in him. He was only seven and he is a tribal," says an overwhelmed Kapur.

Moving on to showbiz, Shekhar will be collaborating with Slumdog Millionaire-maker Danny Boyle for his next project, which could be his long-pending film on water wars, called Paani.

"Danny offered to be a part of the project. Now he is a big name but for me whether it is Panni or not, I would have Danny as a creative partner for anything. We are very similar in our rebellious nature and very different in our approach to cinemam," says he.

Now that's one east-meets-west collaboration audiences will be looking forward to.
