New Delhi: The Karnataka BJP is scheduled to meet on Tuesday to formally elect Jagadish Shettar as the new Chief Minister. Shettar is currently the Rural Development Minister and belongs to the pro-BS Yeddyurappa camp.
Shettar and the outgoing Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda are expected to meet the Governor after the meeting.
Senior BJP leaders Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh and Karnataka in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan are in Bangalore to oversee the transfer of power.

Jagadish Shettar is currently the Rural Development Minister and belongs to the pro-Yeddyurappa camp.
Gowda was forced to put in his papers after the rebel camp led by former CM BS Yeddyurappa criticised the functioning of his government and resorted to a number of pressure tactics since January to oust him and pave the way for Shettar.
