Shilpa Shetty: Lady of contradictions

Shilpa Shetty is a woman of many contradictions, literally. CNN-IBN's Paras Tomar had a hilarious encounter with the actress as she performed her duties as brand ambassador for a vodka brand in Mumbai.

It's funny coming from a Hindi Film actress, but here goes Shilpa Shetty.

Shilpa Shetty: Hindi mein jawaab dena padega? Main mar daloongi apne aap koi! (Do I have to speak in Hindi? I will kill myself!)

And that's how the press conference to relaunch Romanoy Vodka began. This time Vijay Mallya had chosen Shilpa Shetty to be brand ambassador. One can't help but wonder. When you endorse a Cola, you drink it. When you endorse a lipstick, you wear it.

Paras Tomar: When you endorsed alcohol, were you drunk on the job?

Shilpa Shetty: Not really. Does Sachin Tendulkar actually ride a TVS? I'm really not much of a drinker, but I do believe in the product.

In the campaign, Shilpa is underwater.

Paras Tomar: Shilpa, under water. I'd think there's a bikni.

Shilpa Shetty: It's amazing.

Shilpa is a DJ mermaid. But fortunately or unfortunately, this ad isn't too high on the sleaze factor!

Paras Tomar: Uhh, so there's no bikini?

Shilpa Shetty: No, there's no bikini.

Now, alcohol always comes with a disclaimer and here's ours - too much vodka can spoil your lipstick or give you a nasty cough.
