New Delhi: Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Wednesday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party for their indecision on party's prime ministerial candidate. He said, "Any party can announce their prime ministerial candidate. Any Ramu, Shamu or Damu can do this."
The Home Minster said Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is the part leader. "Our leader is Rahul Gandhi and we have announced that already."
The remarks came in the backdrop of the controversy over the opposition to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's appointment as BJP's prime ministerial candidate. On one hand, many party leaders and RSS are backing Modi's candidature and on the other LK Advani camp is insisting that the decision should taken after Assembly elections in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradersh, Chhattisgarh.
Opposing the decision are senior party leaders are Sushma Swaraj and Murli Manohar Joshi. Meanwhile, BJP President Rajanth Singh is also making efforts to convince Advani so that the decision can be taken by September 13.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also took a dig at Modi saying the party cannot go Modi's way. Modi believes in "I, I, I, me, me, me. I am your Alibaba. I am the guy who got your 'Jaddu ki Chaddi' (Magic wand)."
He also said Rahul has different syle of functioning and he keeps a low profile.
