Shiv Pundit, the Punjabi boy who played the lead role in 'Leelai', is happy that the film has been well received in Tamil Nadu. "I am thrilled to know that theatres screening Leelai witnessed 95 per cent occupation in the opening weekend," he says.

"I am proud to make my debut as an actor in Kollywood, which has launched huge talents. While I am interested to do more Tamil movies, Leelai's destiny in the box-office will decide my future here," he says.

On how he landed in 'Leelai', Shiv Pundit says, "I was a model and Leelai producer spotted me in one of those advertisements. In fact, it was his mother who strongly recommended me for the role on seeing the ad. That's how it happened."
