New Delhi: Shiv Sena on Sunday slammed the recent Union Health Ministry notice to yoga guru Baba Ramdev, claiming the Government was compromising national interests in connivance with multinational companies.
Ramdev did not claim to cure ailments but had achieved world renown by actually curing them by yoga. The effectiveness of his yoga cures had on one hand endeared him to the world, while on the other hand had made the multinational comapanies his enemies, the Delhi Shiv Sena chief Jai Bhagwan Goyal said in a statement.
The multinational corporations were hell-bent on eliminating his yoga remedies. Union Health Minister Ambumani Ramadoss, instead of persecuting Baba Ramdev, should take steps to popularize his knowledge through out the country, he added.
He questioned why Coke and Pepsi were still allowed to advertise and sell their products despite being proved harmful in laboratories.
