New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda won his badminton match three love in the morning of counting day, but by the afternoon, it was game over for him.

The Congress stayed within striking distance of the half way mark but couldn't hit the magic figure of 45.

Hooda's Haryana Number 1 campaign and his claim that the Congress will sweep the polls were swept aside -- the voter just didn't buy his development positioning.

Hooda said, “We will form government, but results are below expectations.

Beating all expectations were the Chautalas – the hurricanes of Haryana.

The Indian National Lok Dal (INDL) and its allies ended just 8 short of the Congress's 40, tripling their numbers from the last Assembly..

A confident O P Chautala said that his party will stake claim to form the government.

Chautala said, “The Congress should in reality concede defeat.”

The Chautala patriarch might be smiling, but the man who will be laughing all the way to the vote bank will the Haryana veteran Bhajan Lal.

His seven seats make him the most sought after -- the kingmaker of Harayana.

The only party left floundering was the BJP, having broken its alliance with INLD before the polls with just four seats.
