Press Trust Of India

Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh): Congress star campaigner Priyanka Vadra on Thursday condemned the incident of shoe hurling at the Prime Minister's rally in Ahmedabad, saying this does not fit in Indian tradition.

“If there is a problem, there are two ways to express it - wrong way and the right way. This is not the right way,” Priyanka said.

“This is not our tradition," she told reporters at Dadaur village in her mother's parliamentary constituency.

Priyanka said non-violence was such “a good tradition” of our country and incidents like shoe-throwing did not behoove of Indian traditions.

Asked whether she feared that such incidents could happen at her election rallies, she replied in the negative, but added: “let them throw, who have to throw”.
