Rajpal Singh, a former international shooter is working with the young and restless in rural India to give the country its shooting stars.
It's a sleepy village just 40 kms off Delhi - Johadi - the pace of life is slow. Hot lazy afternoons, life squeezed dry by the sapping heat.
Even the loudspeaker at the local masjid appear lifeless but that's till the clock strikes one, when the sound of gun shots shatters the lethargy.
The small open ground next to the masjid becomes the target practice venue for the young people - all taking a long shot at sucess and stardom.
And the man who has made these people Aim so High is Rajpal Singh - a full time ayurvedic doctor with the MCD and a veteran international shooter himself.
Rajpal triggered this revolution way back in 1998. In the last ten years this small rifle academy has produced shooters like Zakir Khan, Vivek Singh and Ruby Tomar.
"Sports is a medium that promotes brotherhood. Moreover, it keeps these people busy people and give them an opportunity to make a career out of it and become positive in their outlook," said Rajpal Singh, Founder, Johadi Rifle Academy.
Rajpal's Johadi rifle academy does not have high tech facilities nor equipment. What it has is a proud list of young shooting stars. The face of Indian shooting in the international arena.
"35 out of 40 shooters selected by army for mission Olympic are from our academy. We are producing Eklavyas here and not Arjuns. These boys and girls perform with minimum support and facilities and that why they are so good," said Rajpal Singh.
From this pistol packing 77-year-old national champion Prakashi Tomar to her 7-year-old grand-daughter, Rajpal has an entire village getting closer to the great Olympic dream.
