Mumbai: While MNS leader Raj Thackeray may have been granted bail, there are news of another casualty in the on-going face-off between the MNS workers and migrants in Mumbai.
Laljit, a north Indian vegetable seller in Bhandup region in Mumbai allegedly died in clashes with MNS workers on Wednesday evening. The victim is reported to have refused to shut shop when the MNS workers tried forced closure of shops in Bhandup to protest against their leader's arrest.
Laljit succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. Police have registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the attackers. That has given an opportunity to the local SP leaders to demand action against Raj Thackeray under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
An application to this effect was made in the Bhandup police station by the son of the deceased.
