Shortest actor in India to play dad's role

Thiruvananthapuram: Even as Amitabh Bachchan - perhaps the tallest man in Bollywood - is all set to turn an new leaf with his film Paa, Ajayan, the shortest actor in the country is also gearing up to do his little bit.

Ajayan, already in the Guinness Book for being the shortest hero is hitting the Mollywood screens this time round as the father of prominent south Indian hero Jayram in the movie My Big Father.

Ajayan says, "I think this is the greatest challenge in my film career. I have even acted as a hero, but playing the role of a father and that too as Jayaram sir's father was a huge challenge for me."

Unlike Paa which highlights the disease progeria, My Big Father is a comedy.

The two-feet-tall Ajayan plays Albie, a master chef, whose only wish is to get a son of normal height. His wishes are fulfilled, but all hell breaks lose when his son Kunjumon is denied a bride because his father is a dwarf. Finally the father devises his own plans to get his son married.

Jayaram says, "This movie is not just not a comedy. Although it has lot of hilarious scenes involving Ajayan's appearance, the movie also has a lot of subtle elements. The father-son chemistry is worth watching."

My Big Father is all set to hit the screens across Kerala on Friday and Ajayan can only hope that like all other hits of his, audiences will flock to the theatres yet again to watch the little man perform his bit to perfection.
