New Delhi: ‘Bihari Babu’ Shatrughan Sinha’s long innings in the Rajya Sabha finally comes to an end. He has not managed a nomination from the BJP for a third term.

The actor-turned-politician, who always felt “underutilized” by the party, will now have to try out his luck at the time of the next General Elections.

He will now be hoping his on screen popularity will also help him get elected as a Lok Sabha MP if he manages to get a ticket.

In the list of 14 candidates released by the BJP, it’s those who have missed the bus, who are making heads turn.

From Maharashtra, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar has been chosen, ignoring the claims of Rekha Mahajan, wife of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

In Gujarat, former chief minister Keshu Bhai Patel has been punished for his rebellion against Narendra Modi.

Former Union Minister CP Thakur is back in favour of the party, getting nominated from Bihar over Sinha.

These Rajya Sabha nominations were also looked at as a game of shadow boxing between LK Advani and present chief Rajnath Singh. This sure is a chapter in a battle that continues to simmer as the party gets ready for Lok Sabha elections.
