New Delhi: Problems continue in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with former Uttarakhand chief minister BC Khanduri is looking for answers from the party President Rajnath Singh over his removal.
Khanduri is the third leader to put the BJP top brass in a bind in less than a week.
On the other hand only 24 hours later after being asked for a "clarification" from the BJP, senior leader Arun Shourie is still defiant.
Even on Tuesday even after receiving news that the party wanted him to explain why he had hit out at the top leadership Shourie appeared relaxed
"If there is any ambiguity about my statements, I will explain," was all that Shourie said.
But Shourie had on Monday launched a no holds barred attack against BJP President Rajnath Singh and many senior leaders.
The verbal barrage prompted Disciplinary Committee Chairman Ram Naik to say that Shourie was indeed crossing the line..
"It is a serious matter. Parliamentary Party will take cognisance of it," Naik had said.
But while Shourie seems to have gotten away very lightly, the same cannot be said about other two former chief ministers of the BJP.
CNN-IBN has learnt that former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje will be stepping down from her Leader of Opposition's post at the end of Rajasthan Assembly session on August 29.
While she did manage to make a few points by sending her supporters to Delhi in a show of strenght, there was no such luck for Khanduri.
A month after being relieved of his chief minister's post Khanduri has finally mustered courage to ask some questions to Rajnath.
So is this doublespeak on behalf of the BJP?
While Shourie is being treated with kids gloves for launching a scathing criticism of the party, Raje is asked to move out of Rajasthan despite managing 78 seats in the Assembly election.
It is this charge which is bound to haunt the BJP in the immediate future.
