Mumbai: After money, watches and cricket bats, it’s now cars. Santa Claus Shah Rukh Khan will give away cars in Monday’s episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati. And that is not just to the winner but to all the nine participants on the show.
Rohit Khilnani: Where there is Shah Rukh Khan there are surprises.
Shah Rukh Khan: Not really, this is not a big surprise. This is part of the aspect that I wanted to do on KBC. The main idea is that the people who come on the show should have a feeling that for the one hour that they spend on the show they should feel they are special. One hears of 15 minutes of fame, I was hoping in my self-centered, pompous way if I could give one hour of fame.
Rohit Khilnani: You have given them one hour of fame. Then we saw you giving away watches to the contestants and now you are giving cars to the contestants. How did you think of this?
Shah Rukh Khan: It might sound a little material that I keep giving away watches, cricket bats during the World Cup season and whatever I can get hold of in terms of what is special to me. But I think the car idea is not very original. There is someone else who has done it before – Oprah Winfrey. She had given away cars to the audience. If I could afford it, I would actually give away Rs 2 crore to everyone. But Siddharth (Basu) gets very angry saying it’s a game and we should stick to that.
Rohit Khilnani: Your waxed statue is ready at Madame Tussauds. So, will you be going there with your family?
Shah Rukh Khan: I wish my children and family could come but I have to come back soon because my film is being shot in India. I also had to postpone the trip a little because of KBC. The statue will be unveiled on April 3. However, some of my friends will be present there. I have heard it’s going to be very crowded.
Rohit Khilnani: We have heard you are placed between Brad Pitt or Robin Williams?
Shah Rukh Khan: I don’t know. Is that it? I’ll go and find out. I have seen some of the pictures of the face they have done and it looks better than me. (laughs)
Rohit Khilnani: Shah Rukh Khan thank you so much for talking to us.
Shah Rukh Khan: Thank you.
