Mumbai: Bollywood history is replete with stories of celebrity marriages breaking up. But it seems like this trend is now extending to the small screen as well. The most recent case being that of Kasauti Zindagi Ki actress Shweta Tiwari and her husband Raja Chaudhary.

“If she has the guts, let her come and bail me out,” Raja said, shouting at the top of his voice. Raja, who lashed out at the police in a drunken state, acidly reminded the police of his wife's celebrity status hoping that eventually he will be let off.

Raja was picked up by the police on Sunday night when he created a ruckus at a local restaurant in the western suburbs of Mumbai. The reason for the brawl – Raja was allegedly venting his anger after a fight with his wife.

Power situations between couples in tinsel town are fast changing. It is no more news for a woman to be more successful than a man but this could also be a reason for many celebrity relationships going bad.

“Finally a male ego is not able to accept the huge success of his spouse or his partner or girlfriend,” explained psychiatrist M A Matcheswala.

Shweta’s role in Kasauti Zindagi Ki deals with a marriage gone sour. And from what seems to have transpired between the real life couple, it looks like her reel life has spilled over onto her real life.

Initially it seemed like her marriage with Raja would have worked, what with Raja reportedly getting into Bhojpuri film production, but a domestic brawl led to Shweta filing a complaint in the police station against her husband alleging assault and now this incident.

“They are not even giving me food. Shweta please come and rescue me,” pleads Raja.

While it's not completely clear if domestic discord is responsible for Raja’s state, it's something that cannot be ruled out.
