New Delhi: The BJP on Monday filed a petition before the Election Commission asking it to probe the alleged signature forgery case involving Presidential hopeful Pranab Mukherjee.
The BJP said that Pranab's signature on the resignation letter to the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) needed to be investigated.
Showing Pranab's signature on a print out of the resignation letter to Birbhum Institute of Engineering and Technology, Janata Party leader Subramaniyan Swamy, "The ISI council elected him and they are the only body who can accept his resignation. They said that they had got the two signatures verified by a forensic expert."
"Pranab Mukherjee should be ready for an enquiry," he added.
