New Delhi: The Gorkha Janamukti Morcha called a general strike on Thursday.
The strike is to protest Wednesday's police action on the morcha Procession. Police had used force and fired teargas shells to disperse the morcha supporters, who had turned violent.
Scores of policemen and GJM supporters were injured in the clash.
The procession was in protest against an attack on a GJM meeting, allegedly by the rival Gorkha National Liberation Front of Subash Gishing.
The town observed a partial bandh.
