Soon after, Bappi Da added that extra disco flavour. But things moved into overdrive as International hip-hop artist Akon took to the stage and raised the concert to a whole new level.
But when he decided to take a leap into the audience, the security guards went into a tizzy and decided enough was enough. So his act was cut short and then our desi stars took over.
Later, musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy accompanied by actress Priyanka Chopra performed some songs from the soon to be released film Salaam-e-Ishq.
So would our desi stars ever take a leap from the stage towards their adoring fans?
"Indian actors should not jump on stage, it’s scary!" said Priyanka.
"If the audience is good then the singers also feel encouraged," said Bappi Da.
Singer Kailash Kher viewed it differently. “Our audience is such that they will not spare us, be it out of love or hatred. If we ever jump towards our audience, they will definitely not spare us," he said.
Hopefully next time, Akon will not feel so lonely on stage so as to attempt leaping into the audience.
