Thiruvananthapuram: It's been a victory against all odds for a single mother, who raised a set of quintuplets, as her five children passed their class 10 exams with flying colours. However, it has not been an easy journey of Rema Devi after her husband killed himself over mounting debts.
Rema Devi's determination and courage have kept her going over the years. Thankfully, with some help from those around her, she has crossed many hurdles & won the trust of those around her.
"When their father died, we decided to sponsor their education. We are very happy with their grades and will take care of their higher studies as well," said Brother Bruno, principal, Lourde Mount High School.
"I was confident that they will do well as they had all worked hard. We also received lot of support from all quarters, and I can't thank them enough," said Rema Devi.
All the five gems, pancharatnas, as they are fondly called by the locals, have different aspirations and are eyeing a bright future. Uthraja with her five A+s and four As is leading the pack.
"I want to be a doctor and will try my best to take care of my big family," said Uthraja.
The success of the young achievers is clearly the victory of an empathetic society.
