Adilabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the communal violence incident in Adilbad's Watoli village where six people including three children were burnt alive on Sunday morning.
The attack came just two days after clashes broke out between two communities in Bhainsa.
religious procession was making its way through the town on Friday evening, when an altercation broke out with members of another group. Both sides pelted stones at each other. And as the violence spread, several shops were set ablaze.
“They have burnt everyone. My entire family is gone,” said victim's relative, Arshad.
Although, police are refusing to comment on the link between the two incidents, relatives of the victims insist otherwise.
Sources say the police did not take precautionary measures though they had prior information about the communal disturbance in the village. No senior officers were present in the village at the time of the incident on Sunday. Meanwhile, politicians are playing the blame game.
”We don't trust the police with all this they are not capable. So we demand a CBI inquiry,” said Asaduddin Owaisi, Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad.
A curfew has been imposed in Adilabad.
