Sizzle like Priyanka Chopra in Dostana

Toned body, flat stomach, slim legs, a successful career and a killer attitude; that's Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, for you. She's received rave reviews for her sense of style. And in her latest film Dostana, she has a more natural look (the film releases on November 14). We got fashion designer Pria Kataria Puri to tip us off on how to make it work for you!

THE DOSTANA SARI

"Priyanka's look works very well because she has an Indian face. She carries off saris much better than her short dresses and skirts. Her hairstyle seems young and trendy, and really works for her," says Pria.

GET THAT LOOK

You need a slim, toned body to carry off this sari. If you are heavy on the waist and choose to wear it anyways, let the pallu fall over your shoulder. Priyanka's hair is cut in waves, a style and cut that suits many.

FAIR SKIN

Red, pink, peach, gold, bronze and dark browns compliment fair skin. White and ivory do not suit fair skin at all.

DUSKY SKIN

Ivory, gold, white and beige look lovely on dusky skin.

Make-up artist Cory Wallia did Priyanka's look for the film Fashion. "Priyanka has a natural softness to her face and fabulous skin. She's also very sexy," says Cory.

He outlines three looks: edgy, natural and an evening look, which he thinks Priyanka carries off very well.

GET THE EDGE

"Priyanka may have natural softness but she can carry the non-soft look too. She has a versatile face and is open to experimentation. That is the key, when someone is open to different looks. The confidence comes through, which makes the look work," says Cory.

What he would use on Priyanka:

Bronzer, which would give her face a chiseled look.

Metallic brown eye shadow and eyeliner to highlight her eyes and eyebrows.

A funky beige lipstick to highlight her pouty lips.

Dark funky brown blush to highlight her cheekbones.

NATURAL BEAUTY

"The sophisticated Indian look works well on Priyanka. She looks her best in the sari and has super bone structure," he says.

Apply lots of kajal, eyeliner and mascara to highlight her eyes.

Semi-matte natural lip colour.

Natural looking flowy hair.

THE EVENING LOOK

Black, bronze, opaque or metallic eye-shades suit Priyanka's skin tone, well.

Use glossy dark brown lipstick.

SHORTS ARE A NO-GO

Priyanka lost oodles of weight but Pria still believes that the actress does no justice to shorts! Here's why.

"She needs to go more elegant and chic than over-the-top, Bollywood style. Even though she's slimmer now, micro shorts, tiny denim skirts, jeans that are too tight and lycra-micro dresses make her tend to fel a little uncomfortable," says Pria.

SEXY PRI

So, is the sari, the only ensemble Priyanka can wear? "Saris, knee length dresses and skirt and pants with cotton and chiffon blouses. Indo-western churidars also look. Colours like off-white, gold, peaches, pink, all shades of blue will enhance her look," Pria concludes.
