'Skylab is Falling' is chosen as the Best Short film at SIGNS

Thiruvananthapuram:'Skylab is Falling' by Manoj Leonel Jahson has been chosen as the best short film at the short and documentary film festival (SIGNS-2013) which concluded on February 16, 2013.

"The film is noted for its insightful blending of fairy tale narrative with cinematic idiom to comprehend an actual event," the Jury, chaired by eminent Kannada filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli, observed.

'Ningal Aranaye Kando' (Did you see Monitor Lizard) by Sunanda Bhatt of Karnataka won the award for best documentary film "for its extraordinarily compassionate understanding of the harmony between nature and man and the imminent danger of its destruction."

The awards were presented by renowned filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
