London: It was rush hour on the red carpet as Danny Boyle's film, Slumdog Millionaire was being screened. After rave reviews in New York and Toronto, the cast and crew were soaking in all the attention in London.
“People have appreciated the film. This is an impressive screening. It's a British production. So its homecoming,” says Anil Kapoor.
“I saw the film and thought it had great opportunity for music that's it,” A R Rahman.
Shot entirely in Mumbai, Slumdog millionaire is the story of Jamal Malik, an orphan from the slums, who wins rupees 20 million on the TV show who wants to be a millionaire. The film also stars Irrfan Khan and Saurabh Shukla. But it seems the real star of the film is the maximum city itself.
“Slumdog Millionaire- it's a city you love for a filmmaker its extraordinary,” Director, Danny Boyle.
Dev Patel, Actor- “You just fall in love with Mumbai. You can't help it,” says actor, Dev Patel.
“It's a real tribute to Mumbai its real. No masking,” says actor, Freida Pinto.
The film won the people's choice award in Toronto and is believed to be a strong contender at the Oscars next year.
Slumdog Millionaire has created quite a buzz on the festival circuit wherever it has been screened earlier in Toronto, New York and now in London. But the cast and crew are eagerly waiting for the film to be released in India next year.
