New Delhi: Back in India the Slumdog Millionaire team is on a high. The cast and crew were in Mumbai to celebrate the film's success abroad and to promote it's India release this week.
The much awaited Slumdog Millionaire is back where it belongs. After a phenomenal success in the international circuit, the film releases in India this week. And the film's director Danny Boyle, as well as the cast of the film were evidently excited to be back in Mumbai.
Actor Anil Kapoor, who plays an important role in the film said, "We should celebrate the success of the film because it will open the doors to lot many things for us. It's a film written by an Indian, the actors are Indian and Slumdog Millionaire has been shot In India."
David Boyle said, "It's a universal story, much that we love Mumbai at some level will work with people because it has that element about -'you can come from nowhere and nothing to become something'. This element works for them."
Actor Irfaan Khan phrased it thus, "It's a special film I knew because Danny was directing it , but I didn't know it would get so big. And the main lead of the film is destiny's child Dev Patel seemed to relish all the attention he was getting."
"I thank the Indian crew for embracing such a skinny looking foreigner into their film and Slumdog Millionaire is as much Mumbai's as it's mine," said Dev Patel.
Releasing in India in two languages, the Hindi version of the film is called Slumdog Crorepati and with such a buzz it's sure to make the right noise at the box office.
