Mumbai: The much awaited Slumdog Millionaire is back where it belongs to. After a phenomenal success in the international circuit, the film releases in India this week Danny Boyle and cast of the film were evidently excited to be back in Mumbai.
“We should celebrate the success of the film because it will open the doors to lot many things for us, it's a film written by an Indian, actors are Indians, has been shot In India,” says Anil Kapoor.
“It's a universal story, much that we love Mumbai at some level will work with people because it has that you can come from nowhere and nothing to become something element that works for them,” says Danny Boyle.
“It's a special film I know because Danny was directing it, but I didn't know it would get so big,” says Irfaan Khan.
And the main lead of the film destiny's child Dev Patel seemed to relish all the attention he was getting.
“I thank the Indian crew to embrace such a skinny looking foreigner into their film and SlumDog is as much Mumbai’s as its mine,” says Dev Patel.
Releasing in India in two languages the Hindi version of the film is called Slumdog Crorepati and with such a buzz it’s sure to make the right noise at the box office.
