Smoke warning forces Jet's Delhi-London flight to Baku

New Delhi: Jet Airways London-bound flight carrying 262 and 15 crew passengers from Delhi landed in emergency conditions in Baku, the capital of Ajerbaijan, following a smoke warning in the cargo-hold.

The flight left Delhi at 1348 hours and the smoke warning was detected at 1730 hours, after which the flight directed to the Baku airport at 1959 hours (IST) as a precautionary measure, an airlines spokesperson said.

All the passengers and crew are safe, the spokesperson said.

After carrying out a check, the plane is set to take off from the Ajerbaijan capital shortly and expected to reach London at 4am (IST) on Sunday.
