Sociedad rout Valladolid 4-1 to move into 4th in Spanish League

Barcelona: Real Sociedad thrashed Valladolid 4-1 with a dizzying attacking display Saturday to provisionally move into fourth place in the Spanish league.

Forward Antoine Griezmann led Sociedad with a double and Imanol Agirretxe and Xabi Prieto added two more goals as the Basque side put on one of the most commanding performances in Spain's topflight this season.

Sociedad remained with only one loss in their last 18 games and rose three points above Malaga before they host Espanyol on Sunday.

Griezmann got Sociedad rolling at Anoeta Stadium in the 33rd, and Agirretxe doubled the hosts' lead six minutes later. Griezmann hit again a minute before halftime, and Prieto then finished off a team move in the 48th.

Javi Guerra got Valladolid's consolation goal in the 87th.
