Commissioner of Police, Vadodara Sudhir Sinha said, "Now, all speculation that Gujarat police was involved in this escape must come to an end. We have learnt our lessons and have taken action."
Sylvester has been rearrested now but amid speculation that the Gujarat police facilitated Sylvester's escape, the CBI, which probing the fake encounter case, has sought an explanation on the circumstances under which he escaped.
SP, Udaipur Alok Vashista said, "Questioning is on as to how he escaped and what was he planning to do. He is also being interrogated about the weapon found on him."
Sylvester, as well as the four Gujarat cops are presently in the custody of the Rajasthan police, where cases have been registered against them.
