Gandhinagar: In what is clearly a glaring case of lapse of duty, suspended policeman Rajkumar Pandian, who is facing trial in the fake encounters of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati, spend the night on Sunday at his home in Ahmedabad. This even as he is lodged in a Mumbai jail and was brought to Ahmedabad to be produced in court for a hearing.
Escorted by the Maharashtra Police, Pandian was brought to Ahmedabad by train on Sunday night and taken to the Circuit House. But instead of spending the night in police custody, Pandian was seen driving in a private car to his home in Prahladnagar area of Ahmedabad without any escort and even climbing up the stairs of his building into his house.
On Monday morning, Pandian again took the same private car and reached the Circuit House where the police escort team was waiting for him.
Interestingly, call records show that Pandian made the maximum number of calls to former home minister at the time when Tulsiram Prajapati and Sohrabuddin were gunned ddown by the police in fake encounters.
