New Delhi: Like many others, 21-year-old Deepankar is appearing for CAT this year. Even while it's his first attempt at cracking the cat, he's cool as a cucumber as D-day approaches and he shares his list of last minute tips to avoid those jitters.
Dipankar has reset his body clock to bell the CAT like clockwork. He's up at 6 am daily and raring to go everyday. By 10 am - when the CAT exam is scheduled - he's at his mental best. The aim here is to treat each day like the day of the exam.
In the past three months, he's not missed doing a quick revision of math formulae and word lists even for a day. That, he says, is the key to getting those numbers right.
"I have done enough preparation in the last one year. Now I think is the time to relax. Rest, I have left on God," says Dipankar.
He's already cut down on the number of mock tests he was taking for he says that though it's the most important aspect of your preparation, it is not good to keep on taking mock exams when there is less than a week to go.
And wound up in preparations for the past few months, Dipankar has now decided to unwind a bit, to relax his nerves.
Experts endorse Dipankar's approach and add that aspirants shouldn't let peer pressure affect one's psyche and morale.
They say that students should start de-accelerating in the last week and should not drive themselves too hard. They should sleep well, get up in time and be at their best on the exam day.
