Son kills father over extra marital affairs

New Delhi: A 30-year-old man took the drastic step of killing his father Raghubir Singh after he got tired of his father's numerous extra marital affairs.

Satish Prakash and his three friends - one of whom is 13-year-old - who carried out the crime, have been arrested.

"He gave us money to have some chicken and beer and then we left around 11:30 pm," said one of the accused Sahil.

Delhi Police say, a few bottles of beer and a few thousand rupees was all it took for Satish and two others to 65-year-old father Raghubir.

"His father had affairs with several women. He also spent all his pension money on this and gave nothing to his wife," said DCP, Outer District, Atul Katiyar.

Just a few days before the murder, Raghubir had allegedly misbehaved with his wife and it was then that Satish decided that he'd had enough. On the night of June 13, he along with three of his friends first tried smothering his father and then hit him with an iron rod.

Two of Satish's alleged accomplices are juvenile. One of them is barely 13. The police say their suspicions were aroused by Satish's contradictory statements. Raghubir Singh, a government official, had also indicated in his diary that he felt threatened by his son.

"We beat him with rods and used a pillow to cover his face," said Sahil.

The police say Satish and and his friends have confessed to the crime. All four men have been arrested.
