New Delhi: Guess who’s invited for the much-awaited Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan wedding?

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul and Priyanka have received invitation cards for the big event, issued in the name of Amitabh Bachchan’s mother Teji Bachchan, reports The Telegraph.

The Bachchans and Gandhis have been close in the past but relations between the two families have been strained since more than a decade.

The report claims that Amitabh’s brother Ajitabh visited the Gandhi house 10 days ago and handed the cards to Priyanka Vadra as Sonia was not available at that time.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the big wedding that is scheduled to take place on April 19/20 at Amitabh’s Mumbai bungalow.

No Bollywood bigwigs like Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan have been invited for the wedding, which will be a small family affair.

There will be no honeymoon for the couple as Amitabh Bachchan’s mother and Abhishek’s grandmother, Teji Bachchan is not well.

But there is hearsay of a lavish reception because cutting off the film industry from the celebrations is not really an option.
