Mumbai: Always a trend-setter, singer Sonu Nigam has now joined hands with a radio station to come up with a single that he's composed and sung himself. "Punjabi Please" is the singer's new slogan.
“This song is not typical Punjabi, I don’t know the real Punjabi language. It’s normal Punjabi that even a Gujarati can understand. It’s for the masses,” explained Sonu.
Punjabi flavour it certainly does have, but it's also suggestive if you listen closely.
“I didn’t know meter-wise it was supposed to sound like this, but when a wicked mind like yours came and informed me about it, I said it does, But I didn't meant it that way,” he told CNN-IBN.
Sonu hopes his new single will encourage at least some of his Punjabi fans to break into the bhangra every time they hear the song on the airwaves.
