Sony to air OSO minus Manoj spoof

CNN-IBN

Mumbai: A Mumbai sessions court on Friday ordered that the scene in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om in which Shah Rukh Khan spoofs yesteryear's actor Manoj Kumar be deleted for its TV release on August 10.

The particular scene from OSO will be deleted when the film will be aired on Sony Entertainment television.

Manoj Kumar was not happy with the manner in which he was spoofed in the film and had approached a sessions court to get a stay on the film's TV premiere. The court ruled in favour of the actor.

Manoj Kumar's lawyer, Ashok Sarogi, said the film cannot be shown in any medium with the "objectionable scene."

The film's producer Shah Rukh Khan and director Farah Khan had earlier apologised to Manoj Kumar and claimed that they had sorted out the issue, but soon after the controversial scene made it to the DVD.

Sony has now decided to show the film without the scene, but Manoj Kumar is planning to file a defamation case asking for damages.
