THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The nine-day International Film Festival organised by Soorya will begin at 6.30 pm on Wednesday at Municipal auditorium, Vazhuthacaud. The festival will start with the screening of the 2001 film ‘Perfume’ directed by Tom Tykwer. All films will be screened at 6.30 pm.
Marathi film ‘Dhoosar’ will be screened on Thursday. Amol Palekar and his wife Sandhya Gokhale, the director and script-writer respectively of ‘Dhoosar’, will address the audience. ‘Dhoosar’ is the story of a mother suffering from Alzheimer’s.
Turkish film ‘Once Upon a Time in Anatolia’ will be screened on Friday. ‘Landscape in the Mist’ (May 26), Majid Majidi’s ‘Children of Heaven’ (May 27), ‘Melancholia’ (May 28), Jafar Panahi’s ‘Crimson Gold’ (May 29), ‘The Banishment’ (May 30) and Kim Ki-duk’s ‘Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring’ (May 31) are the films to be screened in the festival.
