South Delhi residents file case against DMRC

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court will be hearing a petition on the safety of the Capital's metro services on Tuesday.

The Residents Welfare Association of South Delhi had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the elevated stretch of the Central Secretariat-Badarpur metro line.

The petitioners also alleged that the Metro is bypassing all the safety measures and cited the example of the Zamrudpur accident that killed six people on July 12.

They alleged that security lapses in the metro construction are due to the 2010 Commonwealth Games deadline.
