Southern spice: Asin enjoys her popularity

Chennai: Southern superstar Asin will once again share screen space with actor Kamal Haasan in Bharat Bala's 19th Step, which is an Indo-Japanese film, produced by Walt Disney. Not just that, we will be seeing more of her on the small screen too.

“You have seen me on the small screen in Tata sky advertisements and a whole lot of other endorsements. So yes, there will be more of me,” Asin said.

Asin is the new face for Tata Sky and it looks like life has changed quite a bit for Asin after the Hindi version of Ghajini. But the actress says Ghajini has only made her more visible.

“I still feel the same except I guess more people can now put a name to the face. Before Ghajini people obviously wouldn't recognise me. Now they do and they listen to the song. At least if they don't know my name, they recognise me as the Ghajini girl,” Asin said.

The actress is excited about getting back with Kamal Haasan after Dasavatharam in Bharat Bala's next project titled 19th Step.

“I have not started the shoot yet. We are still in the pre-production stages of the film. So yes, looking forward to that and looking forward to working with Bharat Bala sir. And again that has Rahman sir doing the music, so it's an exciting project,” Asin said.

Currently, Asin's busy with Vipul Shah's London Dreams which also stars Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.

“Working with Salman and Ajay was a lot of fun because both of them are witty guys. They are up to pranks on the sets. I did learn a lot of things from them like for example Ajay taught me a few tongue twisters in Hindi and I taught him a few of tongue twisters in English. We had a lot of fun, he is the entertainment channel on the set, keeps us all in splits,” Asin said.

With enough films and endorsements to keep her busy, Asin is sure enjoying her limelight.
