Chennai: He is someone who introduced backlighting and quirky camera angles to the Indian celluloid and has over the decades added visual masterpieces like Nayakan, Agninakshtram and Alai Payuthey to his credit.
Two-time National Award winner cinematographer P C Sreeram is now planning to make his entry into Bollywood with the film, Cheeni Kum starring Amitabbh Bachchan and Tabu.
"All this time I was busy with Tamil films. My next film is with Aamir Khan," Sriram said.
Having framed the likes of Mohanlal, Kamala Hassan and Amitabh Bachchan, what exactly does it take to make the superstars look good?
"If the actor is good, the director's and the cinematographer's contribution would take it to another height. When you work with a talent, everything is an embellishment to the product," Sriram said.
And when it comes to the magic of the lens, Sriram has his own favourites.
"Lagaan, up to a certain extent, Rang de Basanti and in Tamil it is Thavamai thavamirundu," Sriram said.
Having created magic on screen in Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam and Hindi one can now safely say that Sriram's camerawork speaks a language of it's own.
