Lucknow: The BJP on Thursday accused the Samajwadi government in Uttar Pradesh of attempting to hush up scams committed during the BSP regime on the pretext that it would not resort to political witch hunting.
"Though the election manifesto of the SP promised setting up of a commission to conduct a time frame inquiry into the scams under the BSP regime, senior SP leader and minister Azam Khan is now saying that the government will not indulge in political witch hunting and it should not be taken as its weakness," BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.
He wondered how the SP deviated from its electoral promise of conducting inquiries into the scams after it was voted to power.

The BJP said that Akhilesh Yadav has been stressing that all the promises made in the poll manifesto would be fulfilled.
Demanding action against the corrupt, Pathak asked as to why it was being delayed when Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has been stressing that all the promises made in the poll manifesto would be fulfilled.
"Conflicting reports are emanating from the government about these scams and a message that the present government is trying to save some people is going among the public."
