Hitting a new low in Indian politics, Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan on Wednesday courted controversy by saying Kashmir as a part of India is 'debatable'.
He made the statement at a political event in Badaun in uttar Pradesh.
He also hit out at the Congress for not being serious about the interests of minorities citing that the UPA government had only one Muslim in the cabinet.
Referring to Ghulam Nabi Azad, Azam Khan said that the only Muslim cabinet minister hails from Kashmir and Kashmir as a part of India is debatable.
"Ghulam Nabi Azad is the only Muslim cabinet minster in the Congress. Azad hails from Kashmir and Kashmir as a part of India is debatable," he said.
