New Delhi: The Government is being kept on tenterhooks on the Indo-US Nuclear Deal. On one hand it has to work out the nitty grities with all the 45 member countries of the Nuclear Suppliers' Group cartel.
But this appears to be a much easier task than what they have to do on the other hand - managing the domestic political crisis at home.
The BJP and the Left want an early session of Parliament to be called and are demanding that the Prime Minister must resign.
Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh and General Secretary Amar Singh are likely to meet with former president APJ Abdul Kalam, whose approval of the deal was the excuse for the SP to join the UPA camp.
Amar Singh also met the Prime Minister on Friday and said post the meeting, "We trust and believe the PM. The assurance he gave in Parliament that India's rights to conduct nuclear tests will be protected is a statement we believe in."
Both the Prime Minister and Congress President Sonia Gandhi will also be talking to the allies separately to allay their fears.
Meanwhile, IAEA Chief, Anil Kakodkar, has been held back in the Capital to manage events once NSG meet gets over.
