Paris: Spanish 10th seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual claimed the women's doubles crown at the French Open on Friday.
The duo edged out Casey Dellacqua and Francesca Schiavone 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 in a tough, two-hour-18-minute battle on Suzanne Lenglen Court.
The Australian-Italian partnership of Dellacqua and Schiavone surrendered the title after shovelling the ball into the net on match point, leaving the triumphant pair to leap around the court in jubilation.
It was Ruano Pascual's fifth women's doubles title here while her partner picked up her first crown in Paris.
