Mumbai: Designer Hemant Trivedi showcased his collection in Mumbai on Friday night and while bollywood had a presence at this fashion event the show stealers still remained the special kids who put up a special show.
It was an evening to remember for the differently abled students of SPJ Sadhana School, who walked the ramp with professional models for designer Hemant Trivedi's fashion show 'Because I Am'.
A smattering of the city's celebrity brigade showed up to cheer for the kids, who have collaborated with Trivedi on creating the outfits that were up on display.
Actor Juhi Chawla said, “It was so lovely. I was zapped when I learnt that all the painting and embroideries were done by these kids and of course your heart melts when you see them onstage, it was a well amalgamated show.”
Singer Shibani Kashyap said, “It was heart warming to see kids so ecstatic.”
The children were visibly excited about their moment in the spotlight, and their mentors sported proud grins throughout the evening.
Fashion Designer Hemant Trivedi says, “It’s very simple there is no time, you have to give them as much as time and there are human being so we needed to give them as much time and love they need “
Vice Principal SPL Sadhana School Dr Radhike Khanna said, “No limitation is our motto and there's no time limitation our course are designed to reach out to the sole that needs to blossom.”
Apart from being an opportunity to showcase their skills through this show, the proceeds from the sale of these outfits will be used for the benefit of these very kids. Three cheers to that!
