Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy’s death has taken away a very powerful politician from the Congress party.
He was one of those powerful Chief Ministers whose work Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi cited almost everywhere they went.
Though on Thursday Andhra Pradesh’s Finance Minister K Rosaiah – one of the most trusted leader of YSR in the state – was sworn in as the caretaker chief minister of the state, there are speculations going on about who’ll be chosen at YSR’s position.
Rosaiah’s sworn-in ceremony was kept a closely guarded secret. The information was given out by the Andhra Pradesh chief secretary after almost one hour of the ceremony.
But the big question is – Is Rosaiah the final choice and will his name figure at the top of the list when the AICC ponders over who will take over as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh?
The three other names which may be considered for the post are –
- Former state home minister K Jana Reddy
- Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy
- State Cong chief D Srinivas
Apart from all these leaders, there is one more strong candidate – YSR’s 37-year-old Jaganmohan Reddy.
But only time will tell how things will turn up in Andhra Pradesh after it lost its Chief Minister.
