New Delhi: An airport employee died after being hit by a coach at the Mumbai International Airport on Sunday morning.
Moments after the accident were caught on video by a Citizen Journalist.
The victim, Dyaneshwar Kunte, was an employee of Cumbata Aviation, which provides ground-handling services at major airports around the country.
While Kunte was attending to an aircraft, an Air India coach hit the luggage trolley and the trolley collapsed on him.
The 40-year-old succumbed to his injuries on the spot. The driver of the coach is absconding.
“The bus was speeding. It was so close to the plane that if there was no other equipment then it would have rammed into the plane,” Staff Supervisor at the airport, Rakesh said.
The Mumbai airport accident is one of three such recent mishaps.
On March 27, a labourer from Jharkhand was knocked down and killed by a car at the International Airport in Delhi.
An Air Deccan technician, Sanskriti Sinha, was found dead at the Delhi airport on October 24 last year. She, too, was a victim of reckless driving.
