New Delhi: Harish Rawat is inconsolable, the mother of one of the three policemen who were critically injured in a hit and run case at Lodhi Road in South Delhi early Sunday morning.

Apart from them a civilian was also injured in the incident. The critically injured have been admitted to AIIMS with multiple fractures.

A speeding white Esteem broke the barricades, injured four persons and took off,” said Dinesh Sharma, an eyewitness.

The car was apparently speeding at a 100 km/hr, when the three policemen signaled the driver to stop at the barricade. Police are investigating the case.

“They can be involved in a criminal activity as they did not stop at the barrier,” said Anil Shukla, DCP.

The driver is still at large and the car too has not been traced. A case of hit and run has been registered at the Lodhi Road police station.
