MYSORE: Five women employees of a garment firm were killed and 10 injured when a speeding car ran over them while they were waiting for their bus in Hyrige, 8 km from HD Kote early Saturday morning. Four of them died on spot and one succumbed to injuries at K R Hospital in Mysore. The deceased have been identified as Geetha (20), daughter of Devaiah, Dinamani (19), daughter of Chennaiah, Geetha (19), daughter of Nagaiah, Rajamma (45), wife of Chennaiah. All these were died on spot while the other victim Rathna (20), daughter of Kalaiah, died at the at hospital.
The injured Rekha, Lakshmi, Shobha, Suma, Santha, Shivamma, Lakshmi, Mangalamma and Geetha were admitted to K R Hospital.
When the women were waiting for the bus engaged by IN&FS Silk Garments situated in Hootagalli in Mysore, a Maruti Suzuki Alto (KA-45, M-1527) going towards Handpost from Mysore on Mananthavadi Road went out of control and ran over them. After the mishap, the owner of the car left the car at the scene and fled.
