New Delhi: British pop sensation Spice Girls, who took the world by storm back in 1996 with their hit single, Wannabe are back with a bang.
The girl band has announced an 11 city reunion world tour in London on Thursday. The tour, which will be kick started at Los Angeles in December, will be their first since they split in 2001.
An excited Geri Halliwell lent her prespective on the reunion, before the other girls added their two bits.
"It sounds cheesy, but the feeling's like getting that Golden Ticket in the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's like you've got divorced and you have fallen in love with your ex-husband again," says she.
"Geri just appreciates the fact we've let her back in," adds Victoria Beckham with a laugh.
And Melanie Chisholm chips in saying that though they are going to be a bit nervous, everyone is very excited.
"We can't wait to get in rehearsals and get out there. It's going to be brilliant."
"I wanted to be a Spice Girl again, definitely, and I think that's why we're doing it," adds Emma Bunton.
The Spice Girls topped the pop charts in the '90s selling 55 million albums across the world. So will the Spice Girls be to recreate the girl power magic? Only time will tell.
